अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी की महासचिव, कांग्रेस कार्यसमिति (सीडब्ल्यूसी.) की सदस्य, पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री एवं सिरसा लोकसभा क्षेत्र की सांसद कुमारी सैलजा ने कहा कि हरियाणा में कानून व्यवस्था की स्थिति लगातार बद से बदतर होती जा रही है। अपराधियों के हौसले इतने बुलंद हो चुके हैं कि अब वे जनप्रतिनिधियों को भी खुलेआम जान से मारने की धमकियां देने लगे हैं और करोड़ों रुपये की फिरौती मांग रहे हैं।

कुमारी सैलजा ने कहा कि कुछ दिन पहले महम से कांग्रेस विधायक श्री बलराम दांगी के कार्यालय के बाहर फायरिंग की घटना हुई थी और अब उन्हें 5 करोड़ रुपये की फिरौती मांगते हुए जान से मारने की धमकी दी गई है। यह घटना केवल एक विधायक पर हमला नहीं, बल्कि पूरे लोकतांत्रिक तंत्र और कानून व्यवस्था को खुली चुनौती है। सांसद ने कहा कि जब एक निर्वाचित विधायक ही स्वयं को सुरक्षित महसूस नहीं कर रहा, तो आम नागरिक की सुरक्षा का अंदाजा सहज ही लगाया जा सकता है। भाजपा सरकार के शासन में अपराधियों के मन से कानून का भय समाप्त हो चुका है और अपराधी बेखौफ होकर वारदातों को अंजाम दे रहे हैं। हत्या, लूट, फिरौती, गोलीबारी और संगठित अपराध की घटनाएं लगातार बढ़ रही हैं, लेकिन सरकार प्रभावी कार्रवाई करने में विफल साबित हुई है।

कुमारी सैलजा ने कहा कि कानून व्यवस्था बनाए रखना सरकार की पहली जिम्मेदारी होती है, लेकिन वर्तमान सरकार इस मूल दायित्व को निभाने में असफल रही है। प्रदेश में भय और असुरक्षा का वातावरण बन गया है, जिससे आम जनता स्वयं को असहाय महसूस कर रही है। उन्होंने राज्य सरकार से मांग की कि महम विधायक को धमकी देने वाले अपराधियों की तत्काल गिरफ्तारी सुनिश्चित की जाए, मामले की निष्पक्ष एवं त्वरित जांच कर दोषियों के विरुद्ध कठोर कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाए तथा प्रदेश में कानून का राज स्थापित करने के लिए प्रभावी कदम उठाए जाएं। हरियाणा भय और अपराध से नहीं, बल्कि संविधान और कानून के शासन से चलना चाहिए।

Chandigarh / 27th, June.

The General Secretary, CWC member, Sirsa MP and Former Union Minister Kumari Selja on Friday said that the law and order situation in Haryana is deteriorating rapidly, with criminals becoming increasingly fearless and openly targeting public representatives.

Kumari Selja said that incidents of extortion threats, firing, and organised crime have become frequent in the state, raising serious concerns about public safety.

She pointed out that recently, a Congress MLA from Maham, Balram Dangi, faced firing outside his office, and now the same legislator has reportedly received a death threat along with a demand of ₹5 crore as extortion. She said that such incidents are not merely attacks on individual leaders but a direct challenge to democratic institutions and the rule of law. “If an elected representative is not safe, one can easily imagine the condition of ordinary citizens,” she said.

Kumari Selja alleged that criminals in the state no longer fear the law, and incidents of murder, loot, extortion and firing are rising steadily. She said the government has failed to take effective action, allowing a climate of fear and insecurity to develop across Haryana.

She stressed that maintaining law and order is the foremost responsibility of any government, but the present administration has failed to fulfil this basic duty. She demanded immediate arrest of those involved in threatening the MLA, a fair and swift investigation, and strict action against the culprits to restore public confidence. Kumari Selja said Haryana must be governed by the Constitution and the rule of law, not by fear and criminal intimidation.
